I am a second year PhD student at CU Boulder studying AI and robotics. I work in the CAIRO lab under the advisement of Professor Bradley Hayes. Our research focuses on collaborative robotics in the field of human-robot interaction. Our aim is to enhance the capacity of robots to work in tandem with humans through intelligent algorithm design and intuitive interfaces.
My particular focus is on Learning from Demonstration techniques and accompanying explainable AI interfaces that convey what a robot has learned from a user.
A Brief History of Time:
In the summer of 2007, I left my home state of Massachusetts and moved to California to attend the University of California - Santa Barbara.
After graduating in 2011 with a B.S. in Biopsychology, I was fortunate to be hired by QualTek Molecular Laboratories where I worked for three years as a research scientist.
During my time in CA, I developed a keen interest in neuroscience and an obsession with computing technology and theory.
Venice beach day trip
I recently joined Racer X Cycling team as a amateur mountain bike and cyclocross racer. The Colorado mountains are far too tempting not to constantly be on the bike!
I've played the bass guitar nearly my entire life, on and off.
I have catered and cooked professionally various times in my non-academic career. I enjoy the stress, excitement, and attention to detail that is needed to cook at a high level.
